Steps to Fix MS Outlook or Outlook Express Send/Receive Error

Being a threatening user of email, it becomes important to address the root causes of detrimental errors, such as Fix Send/Receive Error in MS Outlook, which can cause trouble in your work.  This technique helps prevent the entire email communication network and the local computer as well. When you make some or other improvements to control panel settings, then assess the risk factor on other applications such as email, PC update, and firewall. Nevertheless, on Microsoft Technical Center support for the entire Windows PC as well as its portion is available, but there is a lack of awareness among users. So, by authenticating resources available on the web, we should find the predefined steps to fix Outlook send/receive error/bug / degraded results.

Real-Time Case of Email Error (Send/Receive):
Let's address a live scenario in which a user in an email application gets' send / receive' question.

Applied to Email Clients & Corresponding Versions:

MS Outlook: 2016, 2013, 2010, 2007, 2003, 2002, 2000, 98 and 97 Outlook Express: 6.0, 5.5, 5.01, 5.0 and 4.0 Observation: the entire email client does not respond by clicking on the button to send/receive as well as by failing to complete the desired procedure while sending an email.

Reason behind the non-working Email System:

There are some possible factors that are responsible for recorded threats such as error attack, bad synchronization, error in the Outlook data file or unknown bug.

Handling Error Technique:

Several methods are available in Outlook to address email issues such as sending / receiving error, timed contact, protocol change, and Outlook PST file harm. Try Outlook PST repair tool if the problem arises because of corrupt PST file.

When we obtain the error with known reason then we can go through the particular problem that has arisen to correct it. Nonetheless, most Outlook users are recorded on online tech support forums that they face an unexplained error in the face of bad email experience. Then how can we move along the right path to address errors in real time?

To get back lost email application performance, it's advisable to implement resolution methods through the predefined cycle from beginning to end. Nevertheless, after each process has been completed, you can make sure the email application status. If your email application is functioning properly then stop using the successor method. If not, move towards the next phase of method for handling errors.

Take note, given below, in the ascending order of error resolution process:

Check Point 1: Ensuring Internet Connection availability:

This is a primary review before moving to the next step. Only open Internet Explorer in Windows PC, then go through any website to ensure an internet connection is available.

Check Point 2: Delete the incorrect Outlook email account settings:

MS Outlook Express has different versions available on the market as well as the end of the customer.  In this case, each edition of MS Outlook as well as Outlook Express are configured by a different process. However, these processes slightly deviate from one version to another in the same email client, but the probability of settings error is higher at the user's end.

So, if applications are open fix any bad settings. You can control server settings at this stage too. Uncheck the option "Leave a copy of messages on this server" if you are not interested in storing messages on the server location. It also prevents duplication of email objects to your Outlook inbox.

Check Point 3: Delete Garbage/Suspicious Emails

Sometimes through unreliable senders, we get some malicious code on the mailbox. We will delete emails of this kind at this time as soon as possible.

Check Point 4: Prevent Conflict with Antivirus Software

Often MS Outlook/Express antivirus plugin establishes a barrier for the incoming / outgoing server. In this case, we will adopt the Antivirus manufacturing guideline to allow for error-free communication between antivirus and email client. Most of the reputable antivirus companies have their official website or tool with clear guidance.

Check Point 5: Consider Firewall Technology Right Priority

If we set high priority with firewall then it may block protocol and network access to the message transmission. To prevent this kind of access obstacle, MS Outlook and Express email clients need to set appropriate priority.

We need to allow access for two file types, listed below:

  • Outlook.exe (in MS Outlook)
  • Msimn.exe (for Outlook Express)

Check Point 6: Check the MS Outlook email profile

Sometimes, corrupt email profile is the root cause of underlying MS Outlook errors. So, we should carefully check out the Outlook email profile. If you consider Outlook profile in harm status, then use the following steps to create a new Outlook profile:

Step 1: Set Outlook Data Files by default

  • Go through Control Panel, press Mail.
  • Enable mail–The Outlook dialog box will appear and then press Display Profiles.
  • Now you have to review your new Outlook profile, then click Properties.
  • Click on Data Files now in the Mail Setup-Outlook dialog box.
  • Follow the Data Files tab in the Account Settings dialog box and then mention the default Outlook email profile name and location Now, Click Close.

Step 2: Create a new Control Panel Outlook email account profile

  • Press Mail. then click Display Profiles via Mail Setup-Outlook dialog box.
  • Go through the General tab in the Mail dialog box, and then press Connect.
  • Create a new profile dialog box and enter a new name of the profile, then click OK.
  • Choose the Service dialog box that will open then pick Internet E-mail, then press Next.
  • Type your account details via the "Web E-mail Settings" dialog box.
  • Now, to check your account, you can click on "Check Account Settings"
  • Select Existing Data File for Outlook, then press Browse.
  • In the dialog box "Open Outlook Data File," find and then select the previously found Outlook data file, and then click OK.
  • Press Subsequently.
  • Click Close in the Settings dialog box on Test Account.
  • Press Complete.

Checkpoint 7: Run Outlook email client in safe mode

You can start an Outlook email program in safe mode using the following predefined steps:

  • Go through Windows PC Start button. If you are using Windows 8/8.1 then scan the lower-right corner of the screen via the subway gui.
  • In the search box, type exe / safe
  • Then press "Enter" command
  • Note: If you receive a compromised Outlook profile error message then create a new Outlook email profile.

Check Point 8: Check the status of DBX files in Outlook Express

If you face a error with sending/receiving in Outlook Express then check the corresponding database file for each folder available in the email program. You can see the following files on your local PC:

  • Inbox.dbx
  • sent items.dbx folder.dbx (Created by User)

If you find the above files in damaged condition then you need to restore them as quickly as possible.

Conclusion:

In MS Outlook / Outlook Express, the checks above protect all corners of the email program that can pose "Send / Receive" or other problems.

Note points (caution):

  • Never try ScanPST.exe on the original data files in Outlook. So, this one function should be executed on duplicating the PST file.
  • New Outlook profile formation doesn't apply to Outlook Express.
  • Outlook Express technical support isn't available anymore. So, you should try repair tools from third party Outlook Express.
  • ScanPST.exe fails to complete Outlook email recovery process in major cases of damage in Outlook data files.
  • Experts recommend using Microsoft Gold certified vendors ' authenticate PST repair tool.
  • Always try stable MS Outlook toolkit to keep the scenario of data loss far away.

We believe after reading this article you done Fixed your Outlook Send Receive Error. If not, then contact support number 800-570-3215.

How does antivirus software work with McAfee.com/activate?

Mcafee.com/activate antivirus software works in stopping viruses from reaching the computer system and destroying or quarantining viruses that have infected some through the firewall.

To start protecting your computer system, mcafee.com/activate Antivirus software updates the virus database using an automated web crawler that searches the internet and detects malware by name, type, and destructive capability. The program also scans for the way the malicious software can be removed with that detail.

Once the scan is complete, the software is prepared to prevent or remove malware from accessing a computer system, if it is already on the network.

The Firewall

After upgrading the virus database, the McAfee.com/activate Antivirus software enhances a firewall for a device. Some antivirus software is not prepared to withhold all threats— especially new and complex threats— because all software does not conduct a search that is sufficiently comprehensive to locate and manage the new threats to the Internet at mcafee.com. For McAfee Antivirus software, this is not the case, and that is also why the firewall is almost impenetrable. By letting it in, nothing can reach your computer system and an alert is given whenever there is a perceived threat.

Product features

Centralized control

The management console for the McAfee ePolicy The orchestrator may be installed on-site or in the cloud. This gives greater visibility simplifies operations, increases productivity in IT, unifies security and reduces costs.
